What are Confido Recommendations?

Confido analyzes variances between actual consumption/depletions and forecasted values, then recommends updated store counts and velocities based on those trends. It prioritizes the most significant gaps between actual trends and forecast expectations to help your team focus on the areas that matter the most.

How to Leverage Confido Recommendations:

  1. As consumption or depletion actuals are loaded, Confido will analyze every line of the forecast and provide forecast recommendations with two levels of urgency, High or Medium

    1. High Urgency - Appears as a red circle in the forecast

    2. Medium Urgency - Appears as a orange circle in the forecast

    3. Urgency is determined by the percent variation between the recommendation and forecasted values, and these thresholds can be adjusted by navigating to Settings --> Forecast Settings --> Adjusting the Rec Urgency Thresholds

  2. Forecast recommendations will appear next to any group that has a recommendation nested within it (this may be a Planning Group or Product Family based on the forecast view you are leveraging)

  3. After clicking into the group, you will see the specific Product that has a recommendation tied to it

  4. To review the recommendation, click on the red or orange circle adjacent to the base forecast

  5. Here you can review the recommendation and either accept it or dismiss it

    1. If accepting it, you can choose to Apply to All (which will flow the recommendation to all forecast weeks) or choose to only apply it up until a certain week (by clicking the drop down and selecting the week you want the forecast recommendation to apply up until)

Bulk Review/Accepting Confido Recommendations

  1. To review Confido forecast recommendations in bulk, click the View Recommendations button in the top left box

  2. This will prompt a Forecast Recommendations screen to appear on the right side of the screen where you can review all recommendation, which can filtered by Product Dimensions, Planning Groups, and/or Urgency level

  3. You can accept or dismiss all recommendations at the highest level, or review the specific recommendations by clicking the drop down on All Recommendations

Things to Keep in Mind Prior to Accepting Recommendations:

  1. Out-of-stock periods skew velocity down. If a SKU was out of stock for part of the measurement window, Confido's recommendation may suggest a lower velocity than your true baseline. Review the actuals chart before accepting velocity decreases.

  2. New SKUs can generate recommendations almost immediately — review them carefully. Confido's forecast recommendation engine has no minimum "time on shelf" requirement. As soon as there is any syndicated consumption or depletion data to compare against your forecast, Confido evaluates the variance and can flag a High or Medium urgency recommendation, even for a SKU that has only been selling for 3-4 weeks. Because the sample size is small, a new SKU's first few weeks of data can be noisy. Review the underlying actuals chart before accepting a recommendation on a recently launched SKU, and consider setting velocity manually for the first few months if the data still looks unstable. Dismissing a recommendation does not delete any data — it just leaves your existing forecast in place until you accept a recommendation.

  3. Existing items use a 10-week lookback period. For SKUs that are not newly launched, Confido's recommendation engine compares your forecast against the most recent 10 weeks of consumption or depletion actuals when calculating variance and urgency. Data older than 10 weeks does not factor into the current recommendation.
