1. Create an application in Azure

Click Register.

2. Add Microsoft Dynamics Finance & Operations to the application

Navigate to API permissions in your new application. Click Add a Permission, Dynamics ERP, Application Permission, Connector.FullAccess.

Troubleshooting: Authorization Errors When Pushing a Payment to the GL

If you push a payment to your GL through the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) integration and see an error such as "An exception occurred when authorizing — Entry point security access denied ... for operation 'CustPaymentJournalCreation' on service 'CNF_CustPaymentJournalService'," this means the Microsoft Entra ID user authorized for the Confido integration does not have sufficient D365 F&O permissions to create a customer payment journal.

What Permissions Does the Integration User Need?

The Microsoft Entra ID user you authorize for the Confido integration (see Step 4 above) does not need admin or global-admin rights in D365 F&O. It specifically needs a D365 F&O security role that includes permission to create a customer payment journal (the CustPaymentJournalCreation entry point).

How Do I Fix a CustPaymentJournalCreation Authorization Error?

  1. In D365 F&O, navigate to Microsoft Entra ID Applications (as in Step 4 above) and locate the user authorized for the Confido integration.

  2. Confirm that user's assigned security role includes permission to create a customer payment journal.

  3. If the permission is missing, update the user's security role in D365 F&O to include it, or assign a role that already includes it.

  4. Retry pushing the payment from Confido.

Once the correct permission is in place, the payment should push to the GL without the authorization error. If the error persists after confirming the permission is assigned, contact [email protected] with the exact error text and the affected payment.

Why is the Invoice field blank on a deduction Confido posted to D365?

When Confido posts a deduction to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F&O), the Invoice field on the D365 line is only filled in when the deduction is linked to a sales invoice in D365. The D365 Invoice field is a link to an existing D365 sales invoice. It isn't a free-text field, so Confido doesn't write the deduction's own invoice number (the reference number from the customer's remittance or deduction backup) into it.

Where do I find the deduction invoice number in D365?

Confido writes the deduction invoice number into the Notes column on the D365 line, together with the Confido deduction ID. The following fields show deduction details on D365 lines that Confido posts:

  • Invoice: filled in only when the deduction links to a D365 sales invoice.

  • Notes: contains the deduction invoice number and the Confido deduction ID.

To match a D365 line back to a deduction in Confido, search the D365 Notes column for the deduction invoice number or the Confido deduction ID. If neither appears in the Notes column for a deduction Confido posted, contact [email protected] with the Confido deduction ID and the D365 journal it posted to.
