Use this article to understand why a single Kroger payment appears as two checks in Cash Application, and how to work both checks. It is for Confido users with Cash Application access whose Kroger remittances come into Confido through the Kroger portal integration.
Why a Kroger netting payment appears as two checks
A Kroger netting payment is a Kroger payment where deductions are netted against invoices before the money is deposited. Kroger issues a netting payment in two parts, each with its own Kroger payment ID:
A zero-dollar ($0.00) payment
A payment for the actual deposit amount
Confido creates one check for each Kroger payment ID. Because a Kroger netting payment has two payment IDs, the Kroger netting payment shows up in Cash Application as two checks.
Worked example: Kroger deposits $3,800.00 to your bank for a netting payment. Cash Application shows one Kroger check totaling $0.00 and a second Kroger check totaling $3,800.00. The $3,800.00 check is the one that matches your bank deposit.
Can I combine the two Kroger checks into one check?
No. Splitting a Kroger netting payment into two checks is required, and the two Kroger checks can't be merged in Confido.
How to work both Kroger checks
In Accounting → Cash Application, find both Kroger checks. Each check number is its Kroger payment ID.
Review and apply the lines on the zero-dollar Kroger check.
Review and apply the lines on the deposit-amount Kroger check, and match it to the deposit in your bank account.
Push each Kroger check to your ERP as usual.
After both Kroger checks are applied and pushed, the full Kroger netting payment is recorded. If either Kroger check is missing backup or won't apply, contact Confido support with both Kroger payment IDs.
